Pegaus2 R8 Will not shut down

In the middle of using Adobe Lightroom my Mac decided to switch off and restart. Not the first time this has happened but usually it carries on. This time however The Pegasus R8 was not showing on the desktop despite all the blue lights being on and the standby blue light being on. I shut down the Mac and the Pegasus did not shut down. I tried pressing the standby button. Nothing. I pressed and held it. Still nothing. I switched the Mac back on and tried again. No joy. I have disconnected the Pegaus and all other extrenal devices and rest the PRAM. This made no difference either.

Is it safe to pull the power on it and hope that reboots the R8 or is there another procedure I should follow?

Thank You

Chris

You should be OK doing this, if there is no icon on the desktop no writes will be occuring.

And it's possible that the filesystem was damaged by the sudden reboot of the MAC. It might be a good idea to run the disk utility repair option.

Thanks R P,

I did have to 'pull the plug' on it and this morning restarted. Initially it kept shutting down until I realised I had unplugged all the cables so the thunderbolt cable was not plugged in. After I corrected that I seem to be back in business.

Thanks

Chris
