Hi all,

I work for a small school in the IT department.  We've got a 10Tb Pegasus R6 that is serving as a Time Machine backup for our faculty and staff.  It's recently become full (mostly) and we're looking at ways to increase our space or upgrade our server.  The server is a 2011 Mac Mini (4Gigs ram, 500Gig hdd) .  We were wondering if it is possible to Daisy chain 2 Pegasus Devices through the second Thunderbolt port on the pegasus, thereby expanding our storage.  We also wondered if upgrading our server would more efficiently handle the backups (maybe not the right question for this forum) .

Thanks, I appreciate the responses.

Hello Austin,

1.Daisy chain will not expand total capacity, it will show two separate volume for you to use.

2.Upgrading server will not improve Pegasus's speed.(thunderbolt is the key)

Thank you

One of the most interesting scenarios for using WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo is the sequential expansion of storage by connecting multiple drives. If you consider that the amount of data stored on one WD My Book Thunderbolt Duo can reach 8 TB, it turns out that, taking only one Thunderbolt port, you can connect storage with a total capacity of up to 48 TB to the computer! It is certainly very expensive, but the opportunity itself is very tempting.
