Thanks again for helping.
I do have the latest version of the utility. I have left the device to run for the last 3 days and the progress bar is still at 0% In the Physical Drive list all drives except the replacment drive show as Ok. The replacement drive shows as Yello Exclamation and says Rebuidling.
Front led lights for all drives are solid blue and replacment drive is flashing orange indicating activity, The Disk Array is showing as OK and the Logical Drive shows as rebuilding.
I followed some advice on the forum to pause the rebuild and resume it but it won't let me pause citing another rebuild request coomand is pending.
The drive in slot 4 apparently has a bad sector according to the event log but still shows as Ok in Physical Drive list. There is also a Command Time out on disk 4 in the Events tab. This comes just after it says bad sector. I think maybe the drive is failing to bypass the bad sector and locks up.
All drives were running perfectly until drive 6 died. I replaced it and now can't rebuild because of the above issues. All drives are WD3tb and there's 6 in total plus 1 spare. I have it set to Raid10 because it was supposed to be able to handle 2 drives failing but I am beginnong to think that's not true since I had one drive fail and then suddenly a bad sector on another drive and the whole system has gone down.
As I am typing this I suddenly got a pop-up saying the disk i attached is not readable by this computer and the 3 options to eject, ignore or initialise. I chose ignore and I can now see the Promise Drive in Disk Utility. I can't access the drives or data though.
I am not sure what else to do. Should I leave it running or try something else? What is an acceptable amount of time to leave this 'rebuilding' bwith zero sign of progress?
I appreciate any info or answers.
