Good day to all

I have this PCI SATA controller for a long time now and it is (was) working flawlessly until today in a Windows Home Server (WHS) environment.

Recently, I decided to move from this old OS to a more modern one and convert my WHS computer to a Windows 8.1 64bit Home Server. In this movement, I want to use the old hardware, as it was used in the WHS environment, including my Promise SATA300 TX4 Controller.

However, I am not sure if the driver I have (SATA300TX Series Windrv 1.00.0.39) is good for Windows 8.1. If not, is there any possibility to get another driver for the Win 8.1 OS?

Thanks in advance

Hi Panagiotis,

Thank you for choosing Promise Technology, Inc. for your storage needs.

This SATA300TX is not compatible with Windows 8.1 and it is been moved to Legacy product .Unfortunately we do not have any other drivers for 8.1 OS .

Regards

Karthik

Hey Pangiotis... the information Karthik gave you, is not correct...

I have a SATA300TX from Promise sticking in my system, running on Windows 10 Pro Creator

Whaaaat tha heck? Yep! it's true... My DVD-burner is connected to it, because I ran out of on-board SATA III ports...

I have uploaded the driver into my personal cloud. Just follow the link ... the link for the download will be active for the next 24 hours:

Download TX400_PROMISE

The Password for the download is: TX400_PROMISE

How do you have to insallt the driver? Well, just open the "device manager", click on "Add Legacy Hardware" then navigate to the unzipped folder "Promise SATA300 TX4-TX4302 Controller", select the .inf file and click on add or install or whatever... other folder called "Promise Remote Console", installs a console which you can access remotely, but you wont need it, I guess... its not necessary.... so, have fun and a nice evening... :-D

Thank you so much, Rob, for your very helpful information.

I just downloaded the .zip file and unzipped it. It contains two folders:

Folder One: Promise SATA300 TX4-TX4302 Controller

Folder Two: Windows Promise RAID Console SCSI Processor Device

Both folders provide driver(s) and a setup infromation file. You mention the first, as the appropriate one for the driver(s). How about the second? What kind of drivers does it contain?

Thanks in advance for your help

Be well!

Hi Panagiotis,

like I already mentioned, the first folder contains the main driver for the SATA controller, the second is a driver to manage the configuration from within Windows, I guess.

But why not look for yourself right here on the promise homepage :-)

https://www.promise.com/Support/DownloadCenter and there you click the button for "Legacy Products"

there you have to select the following :

"Family" = "FastTrack"

"Series" --> "FastTrack TX"

"Model" --> "FastTrack TX4310"

This controller driver is compatible to the SATA300 TX4 and you can use the software:

WebPAM for Windows
WebPAM for Windows for use with FastTrak TX4310 and FastTrak TX2300 using driver version v2.06.1.326

to set change the controller settings via browser on Windows.

Cheers,

Rob
