I have a Pegasus2 R4 and wonder if there is a newer version of the Promise Utility that doesn't use Kernel Extentions but rather DEXT. OSX keeps warnning me that Promise Utility uses legacy that will not be supported in future versions of OSX.

Right now the Utility is version 4.06.0000.04 (C04) from 2022.

thanks

Hi Kevin,

I have a Pegasus2 R4 and wonder if there is a newer version of the Promise Utility that doesn't use Kernel Extentions but rather DEXT.

The Promise Utility is not a device driver, it's an app. It's neither KEXT nor DEXT.

OSX keeps warnning me that Promise Utility uses legacy that will not be supported in future versions of OSX.

OSX?

Right now the Utility is version 4.06.0000.04 (C04) from 2022.

This version of the Utility will work with both Intel Macs and Apple Silicon Macs.

The warning you are getting appears to be about the Pegasus driver. This is the latest DEXT driver for the Pegasus32 and it is backwards compatible with the Pegasus 2.

Thank you for clarifying.  And thanks for the driver link.  I missed that when I visited the legacy product page.
