Hi,

USB 3.1 type C connector is new design for supporting Thunderbolt 3 device.

Promise Pegasus2 r4 is a Thunderbolt 2 design. It doesn't support  USB 3.1 type C connection.

Thunderbolt 3 is provided over USB-C type connector.   We have not seen any production TB3/USB-C to TB2/DisplayPort style adapters.  However adapters are coming soon from various manufacturers.

When the USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 adapters are available, we may test with the Pegasus2 family to establish compatibility. Please keep an eye on the compatibility list published in our download center.

At this time--Pegasus2 is not supported and it’s unknown if it will be in the future.  Once these adapters are available we will assess them then determine compatibility.

Hi,

Is anyone using a USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 adapter on a Pegasus R2?

Hi Sashi,

We have not tested USB-C to thunderbolt 2 converters. It might work or it might not work. We do not have any official compatibility list for this yet.

I tried the apple thunderbolt to USB-c converter. It does not work. The drive turns on and off with the machine, however the Pegasus utility doesn't detect the drive.

Appologies, I made the mistake of repeating what Promise support told me.

It does in fact work.

Out of interest the motherboard in question is the Gigabyte Aorus Z270X - GAMING 7
