Hi,
Michael posted performance data for the Pegasus 32 series using Thunderbolt 3; do performance numbers also exist for USB 3.2 Gen 2? Would be great to know.

Hi Derek,
Sorry we don't have performance data for USB 3.2 Gen2 with Pegasus32 now, but in future we may update on it.
But when you compare the performance between Thunderbolt3 and USB 3.2, as you know Thunderbolt3 support 40Gb/s
and USB 3.2 support 10Gb/s. so at Thunderbolt you will get performance.
One thing need to be notes that the bandwidth of the connections. Thunderbolt 3: 40 Gb/s = 5 GB/s
USB3.2 Gen2: 10 Gb/s = 1.25 GB/s This is the maximum channel bandwidth, so nothing can go any faster than this. Regards, Promise Team
Hi Ranjith,
Thank you for the response. I appreciate it.
We've been debating adding Threadripper workstations but need Thunderbolt for our Promise arrays. One thought was to run the Promise R32 units as USB 3.2; was interested to see the results. We have ordered a Gigabyte Designer TRX40 MOBO and will try the add-in card for Thunderbolt and hopefully that works fine.
