Vess A2600 Redundancy Check

I'm attempting to run a Redundancy Check on a 2600 but receiving the following informaiton; 
Start Redundancy Check - Failed to start redundancy check  logical drive has not been synchronized

I can see on the LD it states Synchronized = No.

Can anyone point in the the direction to resovle this 'Sync' problem, not sure what it is refering to.

Hi Kyle,

If LD states "Synchronized = No" then Logical drive synchronization might be still running and not 100% completed.The purpose of synchronizing logical drives is to compute and write the parity data on the selected drives. Synchronizing a logical drive verifies that the data redundancy for the logical drive is correct.If you create logical drive then synchronisation will take place before storing data.Please wait till sync get completed.

Thanks for the response, I cannot see any background tasks running & the LD was created a few months ago and has been in use ever since, I've only noticed this issue after i've attempted to run the redundancy test.

Can i force a sync on a operational LD ?

Hi Kyle,

You can use the Vess while a sync is in progress, but the sync operation yields to file I/O, so the sync will take longer, if you have constant I/O (say, from security cameras) then the sync can take a long time to complete.

What the sync operation does is create the parity stripe for redundancy, Redundancy Check verifies that parity stripe, but there is nothing to verify until the sync has completed.

If at all possible, it is recommened that you take the storage offline until the sync competes, as you don't have functional redundancy till the Logical Drive has synced.
