To use all drives on the compatibility list, do I need to update the firmware to the latest version? Is the update safe, or do I need to backup all data and system settings?

what does SR2.5.7 mean? I can't find it in the report.

No, but it's a good idea to update to the latest firmware anyway.

what does SR2.5.7 mean? I can't find it in the report.

It means Service Release 2.5.7.

As you can see below, SR2.5.7 is firmware version 1.05.0000.84.

The latest release is SR2.5.8, version 1.05.0000.88.

Hi,

Where can I get a manual for updating the firmware?

Is it safe to update the firmware on a working r2600ti without changing the configuration settings?

Hi,

It's pretty simple to update the firmware.

First, download the firmware file

Unzip the file, the firmware image has an extension of ptif.

Open WebPAM and navigate to System > Administration > Firmware Update.

Click Choose File and select the firmware file, click Next and follow the Prompts.

After the update the Vess will reboot. Don't update if the Vess is in production or otherwise being used.
