I am preparing a Raid 5 storage for a movie and I was planning on using HDDs mixed with one SSD. Do you have references as to what brand I could use that you have already tested?
The point was to use the SSD as a fast unload tool while keeping the cost low with HDDs on a pegasus r12.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean here, but you cannot mix HDDs and SSDs in a pool or array.
You can create an SSD pool and an HDD pool if that's what you mean.

The Pegasus R12 compatibility list shows that it has only been tested with spinning disks.

A 12 drive disk pool will be faster than a single SSD.
