Speed up Pegasus2 R4 with SSDs?

I am trying to get faster speeds out my Pegasus2 R4 (2TBx4).  According to both AJA and Blackmagic speedtest utilities, I am getting an average of 383MB/s Write & 300MB/s Read on a 4GB test file.  Is this normal?  I was expecting a little faster, especially when reading.

My settings are as follows:

Host: MacPro (2013) w/32GB RAM running OSX 10.12.5

Spotlight is off

Raid 5

Latest firmware

1MB Stripe Size

Forced Read Ahead Enabled (Controller Settings)

Volume is 20% full

-----

Is it possible to replace the stock hard drives that came with my Pegasus2 R4, with SSDs?

If so, do they have to be 3.5" or can I use 2.5" SSDs?

What are the recommended SSDs? (Same as for the Pegasus2 M4?)

Thank you...

OK.  Report saved but your website will not allow me to upload the file.  "File extension not allowed" error.  I will try a support request.
