My pegasus2 R8 PD5 passed away yesterday. Today, I replaced the hard drive and is rebuilding it. PD4 keeps reminding me that it has found bad sectors. Yesterday, PD5 kept reminding me that the hard drive died after finding bad sectors. My array is RAID5. I am worried that PD4 will die during reconstruction. I found that the hard drive used by R8 is ST3000DM001, which is the hard drive that everyone has complained about before. Do I need to consider replacing all hard drives? The reconstruction progress is currently at 52%. Do I need to transfer my data during this period?

I finally passed the difficult time. Currently RAID5 has been rebuilt, but during the rebuilding process, PD8 PD7 PD6 PD4 keeps reporting errors and finding bad sectors. If they are the same batch of hard drives, one of them is damaged. Optimistic; I am currently considering whether to back up data and build RAID50, so that it can tolerate many hard disk errors without losing data; or basically there are problems, I replaced a new hard disk to make RAID50 at one time?

I would like to remind everyone that RAID5 is really unsafe for important data. There is a half chance of data corruption during the reconstruction process, so I am looking for different solutions.

Look at the number of errors reported in the picture, this is a torment for the reconstruction process.
