Starting this thread in case additional support can be provided>

This seems to be a common issue with the SANLink2 SFP+, where the Promise Utility running on a new style MacPro 6,1 (2013) is unable to recognise the SANLink2 device.

I've downloaded the firmware v2.0.4 a half dozen times now, and re-installed, re-booted, and its the same issue.  Utility doesn't see anything, but the Apple system tree can the SANLink2, and the System Preferences -> Network can see it (though requires manual configuration).  Despite this it not possible to ping anything on the other side of the SANLink2 or upload / download data.  I've also tried the Thunderbolt cable in all 6 of the Mac's Thunderport2 ports, and have tried the other end in both Thunderport ports on the SANLink2 - but the Utility conitnues to sit there empty!!!

Needing help now, as starting to wonder why I have spent £600 on a useless piece of kit !!!

Thanks in advance for any ideas or tips,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Can you tell us a little more about this?

Which OS X version is running on your Mac Pro?

Also, upload a copy of the Mac's System Info (spx) so we can see what's happening.

If you want to get actual product support for your Promise product you can contact Tech Support, who most likely can address your issue directly...

Cheers, Richard
