I have a Promise Pegasus R6 24TB set up for RAID 5.  One of the six drives has failed so my MacPro is no longer seeing the Pegasus.  I've ordered a replacement Toshiba drive that should arrive tomorrow.  If I replace the old drive with the new one will it automatically be rebuilt, or do I need to do something to start the rebuild process?

I have Pegasus R6 6TB setup for RAID 5. HD in bay 5 is dead. Replaced it today and showed up as passthru disk.

Followed instructions from here and rebuit RAID. Most of the process was quiet. But completed after 4-5 hrs.

I have a Pegasus R6 32 and have replaced the failing hard drive.  When I go to the Pegasus utility and make that drive "Unconfigured" as instructions say, I still can't REBUILD.  The button is greyed out.

It seems that the replacement drive is not being completely detected even though all physical drives have a green check mark.

In "Disk Array" I get "Incomplete array found in subsystem."

In "Background Activities", the Rebuild option says "No dead physical drives available in the system for rebuild" and the button is greyed out.

Anyone have advice?

Hi Heidi,

Please open a terminal and start the CLI by entering promiseutil.

Then enter the command phydrv and post the results here.
