How or where would one find instructions on how to reformat a Pegasus3 R6. I'm running into issues with my editing/compositing app not getting along with the Pegasus (based on the logs from my editing app) So...I would like to start from scratch from the array end of things.

I've backed up all the data on the Pegasus just can't see a way to reformat via the new(ish) Utility tool.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Robert,

The Pegasus Pro Utility is the utility for a different product line, the Pegasus Pro. It's not an enhanced utiluity for the Pegasus32, although it also supports the earlier Pegasus product line.

I would suggest loading the latest Promise Utility. This version should work unless you have a very old macOS.

The steps are pretty simple, first delete the existing array, then use the Wizard (Automatic option) to create a new array+LUN and put a filesystem on it. You will have to click the lock in the lower left corner of the Utility to use these options.

Yes...I was looking at the PROMISE Utility Pro. I'll assume that's more of a monitoring utility?

I did downoad the Promise Utility that you linked. I'm not much of a tech guy and outside of swapping and rebuilding disks in the past, I've never reformatted or got a Pegasus up and running from scratch. So when you say "delete the existing array" I'll assume that is done outside of the Utility...and if so, how?

Thanks,

rt
