Hi Chris,

Inbox drivers are in the /System/Library/Extentions folder, M1 MACs do not have an inbox STEX driver.

If you installed 6.2.17, it will be in /Library/Extentions folder.

Try running...

sudo kextload /Library/Extensions/PromiseSTEX.kext
kextstat | grep -i stex

Hi Chris,

  • Error Domain=KMErrorDomain Code=27 "Extension with identifiers com.promise.driver.stex not approved to load. Please approve using System Preferences." UserInfo={NSLocalizedDescription=Extension with identifiers com.promise.driver.stex not approved to load. Please approve using System Preferences.}

It says that the STEX driver is not approved to load.

There are two steps needed for a driver to load, the first is to enable third party drivers, that process is shown in the PDF with the driver.

You also have to give each driver permission to run in System Preferences > Security & Privacy. In the General tab there should be a button to allow a driver from Promise to load.
