Following instructions on youtube I cannot see the new drive in physical drive list so that I can then rebuild it. Running the latest version of Promise utility. Replacement drive is identical spec to the previous one which is dead.

Hi Dominik,

Running the latest version of Promise utility.

For a Pegasus 2 you should run this version.

Replacement drive is identical spec to the previous one which is dead.

That would mean that the drive is about 10 years old, it may be bad.

You should get a new drive of the same size or larger and with the same spindle speed, 7200 rpm.

You can test whether the drive is bad by powering the Pegasus down, waiting 30 seconds for the drives to spin down and swapping the replacement drive and one of the original drives. Then power the Pegasus back up. If the replacement drive does not show up in a different slot than the disk is bad. If the replacement drive does show up and the original drive does not, than that drive slot is bad.
