The is a driver out for M1 macs or apple silicon

I have tested this out on my macbook pro m1 with my pegasus 2 R4 works ok, with some bugs but it will mount your device the issue I see is speed. But I am sure this will get ironed out over time.

Or you can download it from this link...

Please read the install guide. Big Sur has security features that must be modified.

This works for me on a Mac Mini M1 with a Pegasus2 R6 as well even though the driver claims it only works for Pegasus3.

Yeah, I suspect they all use similar ways to connect in Mac OS regardless of being thunderbolt 3 or thunderbolt 2.

either that or they always put support for all Pegasus devices in all their products.

The funny thing is their chat support is actually saying it supports more than just the pegasus 3 units. So maybe there is a communication error internally? hard to say all I know is it just works, with pretty much all pegasus units 1, 2 , 3

I've had my old Pegasus R6 series 1 perfectly connected to my new MBP M1 for the last week, by following the guide.

Dear All,

Thank you for the documentation, the new driver and the explanations.

I did all well, installing the new Driver on my MacBook Air M1 with BigSur 11.2.2

In System Report I now see the Promise R4:

Pegasus R-Series:

  Vendor Name: Promise Technology, Inc.

  Device Name: Pegasus R-Series

  Mode: Thunderbolt

  Device ID: 0x1

  Vendor ID: 0x2

  Device Revision: 0x1

  UID: 0x0002000000080F40

  Route String: 1

  Firmware Version: 22.3

  Device Micro Firmware Version: 1.0.0

  Port (Upstream):

  Status: Device connected

  Link Status: 0x2

  Speed: Up to 10Gb/s x2

  Port Micro Firmware Version: 1.4.14

  Cable Firmware Version: 1.0.16

  Cable Serial Number: C4M4165051XF798A1

  Port:

  Status: No device connected

  Link Status: 0x7

  Speed: Up to 10Gb/s x2

  Port Micro Firmware Version: 1.4.14

I'm connected with the Apple USB-C Thunderbolt Adaptator and a Apple Thunderbolt Câble to the Promise.
I rebooted the mac.

If a une an older MacBook Pro with the same cable (without the adatptator), the Drive will mount. On my MacBook Air 16 Go, the Drive did not mount.

When I launch Pegasus Utility, the Drive doesn't show.

Any Idea on something to test or to do?

I have 2 Pegasus R4 and one R6.

Best,

Igor

Just tried to install the new driver above on a MBP16 M1 Max. Followed the instructions to the letter, and the mac locks up whenever a Pegasus2 or Pegasus1 is attached. Very dissappointing.

I'm also having a TERRIBLE time with the Pegaus.

My Pegasus2 (R8) keeps giving "Disk Not Ejected Properly" messages whenever the machine sleeps

(so about 20 messages in 2 hours)
