Hi.

I know Promise 2 is EOL, but I have a lot of this box.

I have a R8, I'd created 2 RAID with 4HDD in RAID 0. Everything good for 4 years

Today, my R8 interupted while copying file. After that, my system restarted and did not see my raid drive. I took HDD out, format HDD and created Raid again, but My Mac still crashed and restarted, and Promise Ultility could not see my R8, I had to turn off system, unplug the power cord, then restarted. Until now Promise Ultility very slow loading my raid HDD

P/S: I'd put 4HDD into other R4 box and everything fine, Raid load fast and drive started fast.

Hi,

It's hard to tell with the information given.

But if the Promise Utility does not see the Pegasus, then it's either the Pegasus chassis has gone bad or the Pegasus driver is corrupted or not loading.

We have a Knowledge Base article to help with Pegasus debug, it might be of assistence.

May be the controller had gone.

I'd tried many way such as: Install new OS, compare 2 Box on the same system with 3 different Macs... with same result

Hi R P

I created a case on Support page and they're trying to find what was with my R8. Until now, I can't log into R8 with RAID drive anymore.

Thank you so much

Hi,

You can't login to a Pegasus R8, do you mean that the Promise Utility can't see your Pegasus?

Or do you mean that the Volume won't mount on the desktop.

Or both?

Hi R P.

If R8 connect to my Mac, Mac OS scratched and restarted then Promise Ultility couldn't see Pegasus and Mac Disk Ultilities could not see the volume too, R8 be freezed and I couldn't turn it off by the power button, I had to unpluged the power cord.
