After many years of reliable service, a 3Tb Seagate Barracuda drive failed in bay 6. Successfully rebuitl on with new replacement Segate Barracudadrive. Within a month, that drive was reported dead.. Tried swapping an older drive form bay 7 to bay 6. Its now dead also. Can a bay die or cause faults in drive in that bay?

Lots of us have been using (not recommended) barracuda drives, despite their specs, successfully for many years. That doesn't preclude asking the question about a slot. I've had a similar experience after a transformer blew on my block and one slot in my R6 began spoiling drives.
