Hello, our Pegasus 3 R8 is connectes to a new Macpro (there is another Pegasus2 connectesd via an USB-C  to Thunderbolt Adapter. We like to archive files to LTO, but dur ing this, the Raid gets unmounted. The logfiles say "The system is stopped by host unplug". We have no problems with the Raid used with native Thunderbolt2. The Mac with 10.11.6 has ever sleepmode diabled. I also set the disk spindown in the promise utility to zero.
We appreciate any tipps and tricks ;-))

Hi Nikolai,

It looks like this issue needs to be analyzed with the help of subsystem report of the unit to find out the exact issue. Please call technical support at 408-228-1500 or reach out through support case at  https://support.promise.com.

Thanks

Thanks! I created a report and initiated a ticket.

it looks like, that the mac command
sudo pmset -a disksleep 0
and and/or
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
did the trick. Now the backup finishes without any interruption and errors.

I just started a ticket for the same issue, however I did just update the firmware of the machine to 600000018. How does one enter those mac commands?

Thanks!

Hello,

You would input those commands through the Terminal app in Utilities. Make sure you have an account with administrative privileges, as it will ask you for your password.

Thanks Joe. I'm a terminal lightweight. I always feel like i'm going to destroy everything when I'm in there ;-)

These are the sorts of commands that need administrator access to touch, so it's normal to feel some trepidation.
