Is it possible to use Pegasus3 RAIDs with a Mac with only Thunderbolt 2 ports, via an adapter? I ask on behalf of a friend who needs additional storage now, but who has to delay his iMac Pro purchase for 6 months or more. Thanks.

Hi Joseph,

Yes, it is possible to use the Pegasus 3 RAID with Thunderbolt 2 enabled MAC. You can use the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adaptor to connect it .

Please make sure you install the Pegasus 3 driver from our support site to have it working.

Thanks !

Hi Raghuraman,

I have similar question.  I have 2 options to buy.  I will using both of them on my new mac pro That i just get. Here is the question.   option 1- Promise pegasus 3 r4 12tb thunder bolt 3 disk    option 2 - Promise pegasus 2  R6 thunderbolt 2 disk.  both are 12tb disk space.   My main concern is disk R/w speeds.   I could't find any  information about disk speeds on the web.
My question is, If i use  pegasus 3 r4 thunderbolt 3  disk on my mac pro with thunderbolt 2. Is it still faster or same speed with pegasus 2 R6?  i mean is there any bottlenec problem? Ofc it will be  half speed than its potential. But still close the  promise 2 r6? Thank you for your time. and have a nice day.
