Dashboard has Warnings on Physical Drive and Disk Array.

Physical Drive: "One or more physical drives are critical or rebuilding"

Disk Array: "OK, PFA"

When I click on Physical Drive from the dashboard: I have all green checkmarks under status but drive ID 1 has PFA under the checkmark.

When I click on Disk Array from the dashboard:

ID: 0

Status: OK, PFA

Capacity: 8 TB

Free Capacity: 0 Byte

Media Patrol: Enabled

When I do a Get Info from my Mac on the RAID it says Capacity 6TB and Available 2.6TB.

No idea what all this means or what I should do. I think the drive is rebuilding because I can hear it churning. Do I need to buy a new drive? If so, what specific drive should I buy? How do I get the new drive in without losing TBs of data?

Hi Kirk,

In order to assist you on this, we need to analyse the subsystem report, please save and attach it to the web support case by logging at support.promise.com.

Steps to save the subsystem report:

- Open promise utility
- Click subsystem information icon on the top of the Promise Utility window
- Click the lock symbol on the left bottom corner of the screen to unlock the utility
- Click on save service report button to save the subsystem report

Below is the Promise KB link to know how to attach files to the web support case:

Thank you,

Regards,

Promise Team

I followed your instructions, but when I hit "Save Service Report" nothing happens. Is it being saved somewhere on my Mac? Not in the downloads or documents folder.

Just saw there was an update to the Utility. I am installing it and trying again.

I updated to the latest utility and tried to "Save Service Report". This time, I get a spinning progress wheel, then the utility crashes. I am going to try restarting my Mac since part of the install was an extension that require security overrides that need a restart to run.

Just restarted and tried to get the report but the utility quits instead of generating a report.
