Pegasus2 R4 connected to Mac not mounting

I am connecting this unit to a Mac Pro running Sierra 10.12.5 and have updated the Utility per its prompts to to the most recent version 4.00 etc.  I have blue lights etc. but I cannot see the device (even Disk Utility does not see it).  I also do not see the dashboard menu options when I launch the utitlity.  

My setup was taken down for some renovation and recently reconnected, so it is possible I am doing something braindead.  I did try switching the firewire cables to different ports, rebooting and so on.  

Do I assume this setup is DOA (Purchased two years ago so ouch) or is there something else I can try?  Any help appreciated.

Hi Gano,

Please try connecting the unit through thunderbolt connection. Please make sure that the Thunderbolt connections are proper from mac to Pegasus.
