Pegasus2 M4 and Samsung 860 EVO SSD drives?

The old Samsung 850 EVO drives are in the Pegasus2 M4's compatibility list. The Samsung 850 has been replaced with the newer Samsung 860 EVO drives. However, the Samsung 860 is not in the M4's compatibility list. Is there any reason to believe there will be any trouble using the 860 with the M4? Has anyone used the 860 on their M4 (and if so, what capacity drive)?

Hi Randolph,

The drive has not been tested or qualified. That being said you welcomed to try the drive; however, the compatibility lists only show drives that have been tested through our process and given that there are a lot of drives out there we cannot test them all. We strongly advised to utilize the drives on the list but outside the list has not been tested.

Thanks you all for the updates

My Promise pegasus2 M4 is eating up the "Toshiba disk drive mq01abd100 "drive very often, one every 6 months

will the ssd drives give better reliablity?

if i use 1 tb ssd drives will i get 4 tb of storage? of is the controller card set for a 2tb limit?

should i stick with the 500 mg ssd and get only a 1.5 tb raid 5

or is it time to upgrade? before i put a 1000.00 in to this Raid system.
