Pegasus1 R4 unmount from Catalina

I recently bought a used Pegasus1 R4. I've got it attatched to a headless 2012 Mac mini running Catlina 10.15.7.

When I boot up the computer with the drive plugged in, all is well.

But after the drive/mini sit idle for a couple hours, the drive spontaneously unmounts. When unmounted, it does not appear in Disk Utility, and the System Report does not register it attatched to the TB port.

If I unplug it and replug it it does not mount. It appears in the System Report, but still does not appear in Disk Utility.

To get it mounted, I need to reboot the Mac.

Any ideas or solutions?

Edit to update: I just did a restart, and it's visible in the system report, but still nothing in Disk Utility.

Edit to update: in terminal I did the following:

Hi John,

Can you check whether the driver is loaded after it disconnects? You can look at the System Profiler or from a terminal type...

kextstat | grep -i promise

Currently, after reboot, the disk is mounted. I ran the command while it was mounted, and this was the result:

I also swapped out the thunderbolt cable with a new one, which didn't solve the problem.

When the Mac was not detecting the drive(either in in disk utility or in the system report), the unit still had the thundebolt symbol illuminated, so it's detecting the computer.

Please run it again after dismount.

And also run

sudo dmesg

and send the output at the end.
