Hi all.

Please forgive me if ask something stupid, but my knowledge in Raid and esp. Pegasus is very basic.

We have a Pegasus R6 attached to a MacMini on OS X El Capitan running. The system boots from the raid

using Thunderbolt.

Due to some performance issues we're changing to Mac Pro. Later we must upgrade to macOS High Sierra.

Question: is there any issue we have to be aware of? Must something be changed? (Utility? Driver? etc...)

Also I would like to know if it would be possible to change the drives from HD to SSD.

Tia for any hint,

Sascha Zumbusch

Hi Sascha Zumbusch,

Have a great day.

Question: is there any issue we have to be aware of? Must something be changed? (Utility? Driver? etc...)

Answer : Yes, you have to unmount the promise raid, instead of removing thunderbold cable directly. Ni need to change anythig, install latest drives and utility which available in Promise.com

The Pegasus R6 will not support SSD.

HI,

thanks for the quick anwer. Your contribution makes the day ..... (even great!)

Unmounting seems to be difficult, if the system boots from R6.

I thought, I switch it off, replug all the connectors, dongles, etc and then boot the Mac Pro pointing to R6...

Or did I get it wrong?
