Hi, I got a Client who has a Pegasus R6 device configured with a RAID 5, 3x2TB + 2 TB .
The device is warning about the message "OK, PFA" status un the Array of the RAID. I readed that this is sign of a imminent disk failure and we should replace it as soons as possible.
Ths disk installed on slot 1 reports several Draw Error Read on its counter. This hard drive belongs to RAID 5
I got two answers
1. Its normal that when this disk mounted on slot1 is failing users got problem while reading data from RAID? In my experience a RAID 5 should works fine with read operations (a little more slow speed of course) when it has one disk failling.
Do I'm wrong?
2. Its about replacing and rebuilding.
The manual say that I can setup auto rebuild, give max priority to the operation rebuild (to make it more faster) and then replace the damaged external unit (in this case located on slot1).
Is that correct? is that secure procedure?
Do you got any comments?
Thanks to all for read an reply.
