I just purchased a Pegasus R4i MPX module for my Mac Pro to use as a Time Machine Backup. The backup has been complete for nearly 7 days now and the drive still keeps making noise all day and night. I've already installed the Promise Utility as well and it's confirmed the the first RAID5 sync is complete.

Any ideas how to get this mess under control? I'm very close to triggering a return because it's COMPLETELY defeats the purpose of owning a Mac Pro with SSDs.

Incredibly frustrating given how expense this thing MPX module is.

Richard Did you find out what was causing the noise? I'm experiencig abnormal noise as well and I haven't started using it yet. It's installed and sitting idle.

I thought it would be much quieter than promise pegasus R6 without a fan. But it's actually the same as the description of the poster.I resell it on eBay.
