Hello,

I have a Pegasus2 R4 that I've been using for years with a MacBook Pro (2013). I recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro (2016) which doesn't have ThunderBolt 2. In order to connect it up, I'm using an Akitio T3T Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter.

However, I ordered a CalDigit TS3 which arrived this morning. It has dual eSATA ports. Rather than using the Thunderbolt2 -> Thunderbolt 3 adapter, I'm wondering if there is any kind of adapter that would allow me to use it via an eSATA port, to free up the ThunderBolt 3 port, and if there would be any noticeable difference in performance.

Thanks!

Hi Nathan,

The Pegasus cannot be connected through a esata ports. The only way to connect is using the thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 2 adapter. You can find the compatbility list for Pegasus 3 in the below link.
