I have 26.5.2 Tahoe OS and have two other Pegasus RAIDs (3 R4 and a 32 R4) connecting with no issue. I have a Pegasus R4 that will connect for a short time then drop. No sleep mode. No reason is apparent when the R4 drops.
I snapped a pic of the current firmware on the R4 is= 5.04.0000.64
the other two are 6.06.0000.45
I feel certain this can be resolved. I am not sure what I have done that might be the issue. TYIA
Hi,
There are 3 primary reasons for random disconnects with a Pegasus1 or Pegasus2.
1. Old firmware. In your case 5.04.0000.64 is the latest firmware for the Pegasus2 but it should be fine.
2. An intermittant Thunderbolt cable. Most Pegasus1 cables date from 2011 or so. Try another cable if possible.
3. Power supply issues.
If needed There are several forum threads about replacing the power supply.
Also Promise currently has refurbished Pegasus1 and Pegasus2 chassis available on the Promise Shop. Also there were Thunderbolt 1 and 2 cables last time I looked.
