Pegasus R4 disk error: "physical disk is marked as DEAD due to removal"

May I know what exactly this error message "physical disk is marked as DEAD due to removal" mean? Is this a real hard disk failure that it can't be used any more?

Another observation for my R4 is that it keeps failing on this disk drive number 4 only. I have encoutered this failure and replaced with new hard disk about 3-4 times that always for this drive number 4 only. Is this normal or something is wrong?

Hi Li Peng,

In case of power outage or improper shutdown, the controller in the Pegasus may mark a drive as Dead. So if there is no errors( Command times out, Bad Sector, PFA)then the drive can be used again.  

Please make sure you have a compatible HDD in the unit to avoid issues like drive failures/Drive not getting detecting ect and a if a drive keep failing in the same solt then it could be an issue with the drive or the slot.
