I have a M4 Mac Mini video camera server connected to a Pegasus M4.   Every 2 or 3 months or so, the Pegasus randomly powers off, making the software relying on it unhappy.

After I eventually discover the problem, I need to go to the unit and manually push the power button to get the disk array back on - which is particularly painful as I am frequently out of town - and count on these servers running withouth manual intervention.  The power-off isn't super frequent - once every couple or 3 months - which I might not even notice if I were just using it for desktop operations.

I was hoping to move more services off of an even older Mac Mini server connected to an ancient Drobo Mini, but I afraid to do so, as it seems that ancient set up may be more reliable at this point.

Is this a common problem, or do I just have a bad unit?   Is there a way for the disk array to at least auto-power on after it has shut down like that?
