Pegasus 32 fan noise

Hi all,

Today I added a Pegasus R32 4 to the studio, it sits next to an older Pegasus 2 R4.

I'm not sure why, but the R32 is markedly louder. The fans are sitting at 1200rpm and its decidedly noisy compared the older model, which is reporting 1100rpm, but is near silent.

Is there anything I can do? I've enjoyed having the pegaus on the desk next to the monitors, but I won't be able to manage that with the new model.

Hi Peter,

Did you get any solution to this?

I have been in contact with Promise and all I get is the run around like the previous response where they continually ask for subsystem information.

Also does your unit turn off properly?

When I shut down my Imac, the unit's small fan stays on, constantly.

Hi Stuart,

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you, but want to let you know its’s a normal behavior for Pegasus 32 units.

1) When the Mac is asleep and Pegasus32 is asleep, the big fan rests, and the small fan runs. Pegasus32 will wake up when Mac wakes up.

2) When the shut down button or the power button is used, Pegasus is powered off, both big and small fan rest. Pegasus will not wake up automatically. It will have to be restarted.
