Here's what I've done so far:

  • plug in to a Mac Mini using a thunderbolt to firewire dongle
  • turn it on
  • after a few minutes the blue lights start flashing, and never stop
  • the drive doesn't connect to the computer
  • turned it off
  • plugged it in to an iMac with thunderbolt (directly without any dongle)
  • same result, blue lights flash, never connects
  • found an article online that said to: turn off Pegasus and remove each drive, then turn it back on without the drives in it. But it just turns itself off immediately.
  • downloaded and installed the Promise Utility for Mac
  • the Promise Utility is running but doesn't do anything (presumably because the Pegasus isn't connected)
  • downloaded and installed the Extension, and can confirm PromiseSTEX is installed
  • tried to connect the Pegasus to the Mac Mini via firewire dongle again
  • blue lights flashing, not connected
  • left it on all night
  • blue lights still flashing in the morning

Hi Mike,

If its the first time setup and connected via the Thudnerbolt, it would do the synchonization process in the background.

If it has worked before and suddenly stopped working , then  register yourself as an user @https://support.promise.com and open a case with following reports.

- MAC System Report (Click Apple Icon > About this Mac >  System Report > Choose 'File' & 'Save').

- Shutdown the unit and remove the drives. Power ON the empty chassis and attempt to launch the Utility . Send us the Service report using the below steps :

1) Open Promise Utility.

2) Click subsystem information icon on the top of the window.

3) Click the lock symbol on the left bottom corner of the screen to unlock the utility.

4) Click on save service report button to save the subsystem report and attach it to the case.

Thanks !
