Pegasus 2 R6 in degraded status after a failed drive and Firmware Updates

I have a degraded RAID 5 array with one bad drive I am replacing.  I have not updated the firmware or updated the utility since the purchase 6 years ago.  I am currently running Catalina and if I download the lastest utility to rebuild the array, I am assuming the utlity will prompt to update the firmware.  

I hesitate to update the firmware with a degraded array, but I wanted to check in with a more knowlable person to make a suggestion.

Hi Mark,

kindly register the unit using the serial number by logging into support.promise.com and open a web support ticket with the service report of the unit attached so that we could assist you further.

Steps to save the subsystem report:

1) Open Promise Utility.

2) Click subsystem information icon on the top of the window.

3) Click the lock symbol on the left bottom corner of the screen to unlock the utility.

4) Click on save service report button to save the subsystem report and attach it to the case.
