Hello,

I bought a Pegasus 2 R4 'sold as seen' from an auction.

I've downloaded the manuals and am working through them. However, I've hit a snag which doesn't seem to be answered in the Troubleshooting section...

I've plugged the R4 into the mains, and switched it on with the front button. The unit switches on, there is a fan noise. The power button LED lights up orange. After about 10 seconds the LED goes blue for two seconds, briefly changes back to orange, then switches off.

It does this whether connected or not, and whether the drive trays are inserted or not.

I don't even know if the unit is functional, but would love to be able to use it!

Thanks for any help you can give!

Hi William,

Unfortunately, this looks like the power supply may have gone bad.

Some other possibilities are a bad Thunderbolt Cable or the Pegaus may be attached to an old UPS unit which has failed.

Thankyou very much. I'll have to get hold of another cable to give that a try,

Thanks,

William

Did you try another cable? I had the exact same thing happen to me with my P2R4. It was the cable!

Incidentally, i have also had a PR6 that just lit up orange (with no fan noise) and this couldn't be repaired (per the recycle place that i bought it from), so at least you have a working one.
