I am considering purchasing a 12TB Pegasus2 R6...( forward thinking if I run out of space)...
Is it possible to mix and match disc sizes or do all the discs need to be the same size?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Chuck,
Please make sure to use the same size drive. If you use mix and match of smaller disk and larger disk in the same array then the array will be configured only with the capacity of the smaller disk.
The capacity of a RAID 5 Volume equals the smallest disk drive times the number of disk drives, minus one. Hence, a RAID 5 Volume with 6x 2TB disk drives will have a capacity of 10TB. A RAID Volume with 2x 4TB disk rives and 4x 2TB disk drive will have a capacity of 10TB. The 4TB space will be unused.
If you are planning to configure two different Disk Array, then you can mix and match of drives.
