Hello,

I have a Pegasus2 R8 unit, which has been performing problem-free for quite some years now.

However, recently one of the OEM drives (Toshiba DT01ACA300) began timing out.

Fortunately, I had on hand not one, but two identical drives for just such an eventuality.  Unfortunately, however, neither one functioned when installed in the R8.

Fortunately, I had a WD drive on hand, which did, and is, functioning.

I have therefore purchased my last Toshiba hard drive.

It appears that these days, "NAS" drives of the 5400 RPM variety are far more plentiful on the market than the 7200 RPM drives.

Two questions:

1) Will the Pegasus R8 function properly if a failed 7200 RPM drive, is replaced with a 5400 RPM drive

2) Will the Pegasus R8 function properly if it is populated entirely with 5400 RPM drives?

Thank you for your assistance.
