Hello!

Sort of living a nightmare at the moment.. in the middle of a project, today my Pegasus drive would not mount.

It shows up in my iMac thunderbolt window, but in the Pegasus Utility tool, both the disk array and logical drive have a red X next to them.

I'm not sure if there's a way to salvage my files. Please help!

Hello Jason,

Could you open a terminal, enter promiseutil to start the CLI and enter the following commands?

phydrv
array -v
logdrv -v

Then post the results here?

Hi Jason,

It looks like PD2 (the second drive from the top) has died. Since you have a RAID5 you are fine.

To bring the array online, from the CLI enter the following command.

array -a accept -d 0

Note, you will have to do this everytime the Pegasus powers up, at least until you replace PD2.

If you replace PD2 with a new drive, an auto-rebuild should start and when it completes you will be back online and redundant again. It is recommended that you set your MAC to not sleep while a rebuild is in progress.

Hi R P -

Appreciate your help on this! That recovered the Pegasus (besides PD2 ofc) for now.. thank you for your time.

Quick follow up to this - is there a recommended drive that would slot into this RAID best? As a replacement in the 2nd slot.

Hi Jason,

You currently have 3TB Seagate drives, I'd suggest buying a new 3TB Seagate 7200 RPM SATA drive.

Amazon seems to have your drive available but the reviews are not good. These are not new drives they were manufactured in maybe the 2012 timeframe.

A new Segate drive with the same specs would be best. Check Amazon or Newegg.
