I have a Pegasus R6 with 6x6 TB drives i.e. 36 TB. It works perfect. But what is the maximum size for Pegasus R6 and Pegasus R8 (and Pegasus2-series)?

Hi,

Please use the below link to download the compatibility list for Pegasus series/Pegasus2.

Pegasus R4/R6 Compatibility List:

Pegasus2 R4/R6/R8/M4 Compatibility :

http://promise.com/DownloadFile.aspx?DownloadFileUID=4126

The compatibility sheet has the list of current qualified and supported compatible products. If it is on this list then it has been tested and approved for use. If it is not on this list then it is not officially supported i.e. it has not been tested, it may or may not work.

Thanks!

Well according to the list, only 1 6TB drive is supported - and it's only supported for the R8? Thats really awful. This situation is the only reason I don't own a Pegasus2 yet.

Hi,

Yes. The 6TB drives is tested only on the Pegasus2 R8 enclosure. May be there will be an update on compatiblity list with higher capacity drives in the next release. Please check promise.com for updates.

Thank you..

I am using WD Red disks - 6 TB. Works perfectly with my pretty old Promise R6

The specific drives that I use for my Promise R6 (1.st. generation) is WD Red WD60EFRX

I also use these drives in my R4 Discless (secound Generation) and they work but the Blackmagic shows them as slower in side the raid 5 then when I connect them individually out side the Promise unit.

I'm thinking of adding Seagate Enterprise drives 8 or 10TB first to my R4 and if they work there then my R6 (1st generation also)
