Hello,

I have a Promise Pegasus 2 R6 connected to a Mac Mini M1 pro using the usb-c - thunderbolt 2 apple adapter.

The dext driver should installed correctly

% systemextensionsctl list | grep promise

* * 268CCUR4WN com.promise.driverkit.pegasus (21.1.0/1) com.promise.driverkit.pegasus [activated enabled]

but the promise is not mounted

 % promiseutil

-------------------------------------------------------------

Promise Utility

Version: 4.06.0000.04 Build Date: Mar 28, 2022

-------------------------------------------------------------

List available RAID HBAs and Subsystems

Totally 0 HBA(s) and 0 Subsystem(s)

The thunderbolt cable and adapter is working because I tested it to connect my old Mac Pro with the M1 and it worked without any issue.

All the HD leds are blue, included the one related to the thunderbolt port.
The power led is orange

Could you help me pls?

Hi Stefano,

can the Pegasus unit still mount on your old Mac Pro ?
If so, please check the installed firmware version, latest available version is 5.04.0000.64.
Update if necessary and try again to connect to your M1 Mac.

No, it started having the same problem even with my old Mac pro. I thought the reason was the old Mac Pro

Apparently not.

Please shut down the Pegasus device, (partially) remove all disks from the housing and re-connect it to your Mac.
Check if the device can now boot up (blue LED on power button) and if it can be seen in the Promise Utility.

If so, check firmware and then try to insert each disk one by one, wait for the disk to be shown in the utility before inserting the next one.
If it also can't be seen in the utility without any disks in the housing then I suspect a defective box.
You can try to source another Pegasus R6 or R8 chassis and mount your current set of disks in that one to regain access to your data.

I have done it and the led on the power button is still orange

In that case I suspect, as mentioned before, a defective box or controller board in the unit itself.
If you have the possibility to test again with another Thunderbolt cable then I would definitely try that as well.
If issue remains then you will need a replacement box.
