All,
I have a Pegasus R6 with 6x3TB drives set to RAID6. Approx 8 TB of data stored on 18 TB available space. Two drives failed. I replaced one drive and restarted the box. A warning appeared on first reboot where I had to Accept that the array is no longer redundant and it need to be rebuilt, as one might expect. I started the rebuild but under the Background Activities tab, Rebuild says there are no available drives to rebuild and no progress bar shows. There is a fast-flashing yellow/orange? LED on the new drive and all other drives seemed to be alive with dancing blue LEDs at first so it appeaed the rebuild was working. THen all other good drives seemed to have calmed thier LEDs to steady blue (new drive still fast flashing bright). but it is still showing "degraded/rebuilding" under the Array tab three days later. Is this normal?
One detail that may be pertinent is that I wanted to move away from the problemeatic Seagate drives in favor of WD Reds. THe Reds are 5400 RPM. I know that's not best practice to mix 7200 and 5400 rpm drives but i want to slowly migrate them all.
Long rebuild time
