Hello. One of my clients has bought old 2 second hand Vtrack 24 bay fiber units. We've connected them and all works fine however I would like to be able logon to the GUI to keep an eye on the integrety of the unit but we have no idea what the IP address of those units is and the previous owned doesn't know it either. Does anyone has a suggestion on how to do that? I have serial numbers if needed.

Thanks

Hi Johan,

Something is not correct here, the J5000 is a new JBOD and it has no Fibre Channel ports.

The default IP for old VTraks (it could be an Ex10) is 10.0.0.1, you can try and access at that IP. But the previous owner may have set DHCP or set a static IP. The default login/password is administrator/password

There is a simpler option that might work. If you have a MAC, safari can find it via bonjour. Just connect it to your network start Safari and check Bonjour. This will find the VTrak no matter what the IP is, then you can change your MAC's IP to the same network and attempt to login. Apple used to have a Windows version of Safari, but it is no longer available from Apple. If  you had downloaded that previously, then that will work as well.

If this does not work you will need a serial port connection. You may need that to reset the password anyway.
