I have a Pegasus2 - R6 it performed without a hitch for like 3+ years, then I had a drive fail worked through replacement and rebuild just to have another fail in 3 months. My concussion time to replace ever drive (FYI I'm running Raid 6, after getting burned with Raid 5 many years ago)

Support send me the list of approved drive and I bought 7 (6 + 1 spare) Seagate 10TB IronWolf drive backed everything up and reformat and rebuilt (like 3 days) the raid. All system doing good It currently running (nothing else on a 10.10.5 Late 2014 i7 Mac mini) I thinking about upgrading to a new Mac Mini mainly to help my sone that needs a newer computer

Question DO I need anything besides the base model -

  • 3.6GHz quad‑core 8th‑generation Intel Core i3
  • 8GB 2666MHz DDR4
  • Intel UHD Graphics 630
  • 128GB SSD storage
  • Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet using RJ-45 connector)

2nd Question DO I simply download the software and plug it in?

3rd Question what is ChromaSync and do I need it?

Thanks

Matt

Hi Matt,

Please check your new Mac Mini  hardware specification.Pegasus2 use Thunderbolt 2 technology. If your new Mac mini have Thunderbolt 3 ports, you need to get Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 adapter in order to connect Pegasus2 with your Thunderbolt 3 computer.

ChronoSync is a backup software powered by ChronoSync that runs on macOS .It allows periodic backups, bootable drive clones, and folder synchronizations.Chronosync Pegasus edition will require license key which you need to purchase.Only Pegasus3 have free license key.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Regards

Arun
