Good morning :)

I have an old 2012 MacPro working fine at 32 GB of RAM and 3.4 Ghz withe the latest Pegasus Utility

Please help me reinstall my R4 with Hy Sierra.

I saw no disks upon firmware update.

Then I clean installed everything and the .img file could not be "recognized".

TIA

Dan

Hi Dan,

The Pegasus unit will work on Mac OS X 10.13. You should not open the firmware file. The firmware image file should be flashed through CLI or do the firmware update from the Pormise Utility.

Here is the step by step instructions:

1. Download the firmware file from the promise.com website.

2. Open MAC terminal and then type promiseutil and then type the following command.

3. ptiflash -f <Drag the downloaded file to terminal window> and hit return

4. Reboot the unit using below command once it's re-flashed

shutdown -a restart

5. If it's not working, do the manual reboot.

Please do and let me know if you have any queries.

Dan,

There is no proper thunderbolt connection from mac to Pegasus. It shows "Subsystem not found' which indicates there is no thunderbolt connection from source to destination.

Please check if the thunderbolt cable is properly seated, do try a different port on the Pegasus.

Can you check the System Info and see if the Pegasus appears in the Thunderbolt section?

Great news Dan.

In more than 20 years working with IT, it is almost always some cable... 8^)

At some point in time I worked for the IBM help desk in the French headquarters in Marne la Vallée.

Believe it or not, they called every other day to complain about the inadequate « coffee cup » that « spilled coffee on the floor ».

It was some twenty years ago and many new PC systems have started to ship complete with CD-ROM trays.

One of the guys who got "help" from me then must have placed a spell for me so that I didn't check my cables before I called you :)))
