Hi.

So I have an old Mac Pro trash can and my Pegasus2 R4 and R6 have been working great. I also have a R32 that I have been able to daisy chain of the R6 via Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter. After some firmware updates on the pegasus or promise app its all now a big mess.

For my M1 macbook pro Ventura 13.5.1 I can mount my R32 raid. But non of the Pegasus 2 raids show up on the desktop. They light up and start spinning but the icon of a bolt "Thunderbolt" never lights up. My adapter works as I can mount a old LaCie rugged drive with Thunderbold 2 port without problem. I have tried all the updates I can find.

On my old Mac PRO that has 6 Thunderbolt 2 ports the Pegasus 2 raids works in one ( 1!) of them. In all other ports the drive lights up but the bolt icon never lights up. When its mounted using that one port I can´t get the other Promise 2 raid to show up if I try and daisy chain them. On the first drive the secont bolt lights up and the second drive also start but does not show up on the desktop or if i start in recovery mode.

So some how the drives get connection as the start in any connection but after that something fails to work.

All this is a big pain for me right now so any kind of solution would be great.

Can you downgrade to an older firmware for the pegasus 2 raids?

Thanks in advance / B

Hi Björn,

You should connect the fastest device first, connect the P32 to the mac, then daisychain the TB2 devices.

For my M1 macbook pro Ventura 13.5.1 I can mount my R32 raid. But non of the Pegasus 2 raids show up on the desktop. They light up and start spinning but the icon of a bolt "Thunderbolt" never lights up.

There may be a problem with your TB2 cable, do you have another you can try?

So some how the drives get connection as the start in any connection but after that something fails to work.

If the Pegasus starts, then after a while dies, with a TB2 Pegasus this could mean that the power supply is failing. With a TB3 Pegasus, it could indicate a power supply failing, or an intermittant TB3 cable.

Can you downgrade to an older firmware for the pegasus 2 raids?

I'm not sure, l will check and update this comment.

I have tried this and the TB2 devices starts all lights are lit. The orange light turns blue but the "bolt" symbol never lights up.

The same cable works on my Mac Pro when I connect my P2. But i will try and get one more.

They dont die. It´s just that the "bolt" symbol never lights up and they show up on on my desktop. The drives are on with lights until I power off my computer. They Light up when I start the computer. It´s just that they don´t show up.

Hi Got a new cable today. It works on my mac pro. But when i connect it the drive that was plugged in before and working does not show up. Seems Like i can´t have 2 Pegasus2s connected at the same time. Not working when connected straight to the computer or when daisy chained.

I did a video to try and explain better. Can be downloaded hear:  https://we.tl/t-nBcno5ZBJT

Thanks

I'm confused, did you get a new Thunderbolt 2 cable? You reported no Thunderbolt link lights on the Pegasus2. Are you using the Apple Thunderbolt3 > Thunderbolt2 adapter? The Apple adapter works, we do know that some other adapters don't work.

Seems Like i can´t have 2 Pegasus2s connected at the same time.

Some customers have had 8 Pegasus units daisy chained, 2 Pegasus is not a problem.

Sorry for the late reply. X- mas :-)

I got a new Thunderbolt 2 cable. It works when I connect one Raid but I cant connect two pegasus. Not usine seperate Thunderbolt 2 ports on my Mac Pro and not when daisy chaining them. And yes. i know this can work as i USED to work but not anymore. I did have all my 3 raids chained and now it doesnt work anymore.

I have Apple TB2 to TB3 adapter. It works with a lacie rugged disk without a problem bet when connected to my P2 raids it just starts the raids and the light up but the "thunderbolt symbol light" on th raids does not light up. If I turn off my computer the raids shuts down. So some kind of connection is there but not wokting 100%.

Did you watch the video clip I uploaded?
