Hi all, I have a Pegasus R6 and have been running two 2TB disks in a simple RAID1 for cataloging my photos and videos for a long time. I have had drives fail and replaced/rebuilt no problem. Yesterday I looked at some photos without incident and then a couple of hours later the drive was gane and I had warnings in Promise Utility saying that one drive was STALE. I cleared the flag and rebuilt the drive per instructions form Promise's site. The drive rebuilt without issue but the unit was not online, I shutdown the MacBook and rebooted now the Utility showed the rebuilt drive as DEAD. Today I purchased a WD RED 2TB which matches the good drive in the unit. It rebuilt without incident and all systems are green in the utility - the physical disks, the array, everything. The lights on the unit are all blue. The drive is not visible/mounted. I have uninstaleed and updadted the driver and utility app and all remains the same. The unit is listed on the System Report and I can see it in disk utility but first aid fails with an error that apparently is common among Catalina users (I'm sorry it escapes my memory at the moment).
MacBook Pro Late 2013 - 2.3GHz Quad i7, 16GB, Catalina 10.15.4. These drives are holding a lot of precious memories, most of which are backed up again but a signicant amount are between the last offsite backup and now so I am a little anxious about this.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
