My SmartStor DS4600 enclosure hardware doesn't work anymore, but the hard drives are OK. I put 3 hard drives in my computer (Mac) and I'm looking for software to recover RAID 5 data in original folders trees. I have the possibility to put all 4 drives, but I think there is a possibility to get data back only with 3.
I tried Data Rescue 4, but scan time for 9 Tb is more than 4000 days!
If I buy another DS4600 enclosure and put the drives in, it will work or not?

Yes its possible, you can move all the drives to same identical unit to recover the data.

Hi Hari,
I bought another one DS4600 enclosure, install the hard drives in the same order, I can see the volume on the desktop for 5 minutes and after the volume disconnected and the LEDs are blinking red and strange sound of HD heads.
For strange reason the 2 of 4 hard drives stopped working with a sound of broken HD head. I put back the HDs to the computer, same thing, two of them are broken. So there is no more possibility to recover, RAID 5 needs 3 of 4 working drives.
