HI Espen,
Only a few tested SATA drives are compatible with the J4 unit. Please find the below link refers to the compatibility list.

Hi, I am aware of the list. However the lack of new 2TB disks on the list made me try out some other. In 3 of the slots I get 2TB disks to work, but on the 4th it wont work properly. It seems to be a combination of what disk is placed where or something else.
On some forums it seems like the disks are not 100% compatible with sata 3, or that the noise (inference) is creating issues.
Hi Espen,
You can use any other HDD's, but it might work or might not and it is highly recommended to use only the hardware listed in the Promise compatibility list which is tested for optimal performance.
Also, Incompatible drives will work with the unit, however, we are not sure how long it will work also there might be a possibility for data corruption so It is advisable to install the compatible drive in the unit.

Right!
Do you have any plan for an update of the list? There are 4TB and 5TB disks out there now to be tested. A J4 with 16TB would be nice...
Hi Espen,
The Pegasus J4 has been moved into legacy items & EOL (End Of Life). We will not test any further drives for the unit.
Thank you.
